Peter Rabl

Peter Rabl (born June 11, 1948 in Bruck an der Mur ) is an Austrian journalist .

Life

Peter Rabl worked for the Niederösterreichische Nachrichten from 1971 to 1973 . From 1973 to 1975 he was editor and department head for domestic policy at the weekly press . From 1975 he was head of the domestic affairs department and from 1978 also deputy editor-in-chief of the Austrian daily Kurier . From 1988 to 1991 he was the editor of profil . From 1991 to 1993 he was director of the management board of Zeitschriften Verlags- und Beteiligungs AG (magazines of the Kurier group) and from 1993 to 2005 publisher and editor-in-chief of Kurier and at the same time managing director of Kurier editorial company . Since 2005, freelance journalist, he was by 2012 commentator of the Courier and editorialists.

From 1980 to 1988 he was broadcast manager and moderator of Politics on Friday at ORF , then Domestic Report , from 1984 also head of the department for documentation. From 1995 to 1997 he was a part-time presenter of the ORF talk show "To the matter with Peter Rabl". From 2009 to 2012 he was part of the moderation team of the new Club 2 until it was closed in 2012. Rabl wrote guest comments for "Die Presse" in the "Quergeschritten" section until he completely withdrew from all journalistic activities on the occasion of his 70th birthday in 2018 .

Peter Rabl was married to Helga Rabl-Stadler , the president of the Salzburg Festival and daughter of the longstanding ORF general manager Gerd Bacher .
