Peter Remigius

Peter Remigius (born May 20, 1939 in Manakudy-Mel ) is an Indian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Kottar .

Life

Peter Remigius was ordained a priest on April 18, 1966 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Kumbakonam on November 10, 1989 . He was ordained bishop by the Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches , Duraisamy Simon Lourdusamy , on January 3rd of the following year; Co- consecrators were Marianus Arokiasamy , Archbishop of Madurai , and Venmani S. Selvanather , Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Kottar on June 30, 2007. On May 20, 2017, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
