Peter Schöne (born September 26, 1958 ) is a former German football player who played for Dynamo Dresden and 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football, in the 1970s and 1980s . He is a GDR junior national player.

Athletic career

Peter Schöne from Dynamo Dresden was already used in the men's division as a junior . In the 1975/76 season he played three games for the 2nd team in the second-rate GDR league and also scored one goal. In October 1976, he completed an international match as a striker with the GDR junior national team . On March 12, 1977, the 1.83 m tall handsome made his first and only league appearance at Dynamo Dresden when he came on for four minutes for left winger Gert Heidler in the match between FC Carl Zeiss Jena and Dynamo (0: 2) . In 1979 he was district champion with the ASG and rose to the GDR league. There he played 21 of the 22 point games in the 1979/80 season and was Kamenz's top scorer with seven goals. After another five GDR league games in the following season, he was discharged from the army in 1981.

For the 1981/82 season Schöne joined the first division club 1. FC Lok Leipzig. He immediately fought for a regular place in the league team by playing 23 of the 26 point games played in attack and scoring three goals. He was able to maintain his status as a regular player until the end of the 1984/85 season. In these four seasons, he made 91 of 104 possible league appearances and scored 16 goals. In the 1985/86 season Schöne was only four times in the starting line-up and played a total of only twelve league games, in which he scored two goals. Although he was used in six of the eight cup games that season, he was not called up in the final of the GDR soccer cup, which 1. FC Lok won 5-1 over 1. FC Union Berlin . Schöne completed his last ten league games for 1. FC Lok in the first half of the 1986/87 season, in which he only played three times from the start and remained goalless. At the beginning of the second half of the 1986/87 season, Schöne moved to the top division Stahl Riesa . There it was no longer enough to become a regular player, because by the end of the 1987/88 season Schöne had only made 14 out of 39 possible league appearances, and he scored only one goal, although usually used as a striker. After 128 league games, Peter Schöne ended his career in higher-class football at the age of 29 and joined the third-class district division of Lautex Neugersdorf as a recreational footballer .
