Peter Scher

Peter Scher (born September 30, 1880 in Großkamsdorf ; † September 23, 1953 in Wasserburg am Inn ; actually Fritz Hermann Schweynert ) was a German writer and journalist . Peter Scher also used Emanuel , Trim , Eff Ess , Leon Holly and Pierre Blagnere as pseudonyms .

Peter Scher has published numerous books and worked as an editor and translator . He wrote for newspapers and magazines ( Der Sturm , Die Weltbühne , Die Aktion , Der Brenner , Die Ente , Berliner Tageblatt , Vossische Zeitung or the Frankfurter Zeitung ) and was editor-in-chief of the satirical newspaper Simplicissimus from 1914 to 1916 and from 1919 to 1930 . After 1933 Scher lived with his wife Helene, b. Schneidt (1888–1958), retired as a freelance writer in Wasserburg am Inn . His literary work mainly includes poetry and prose. In his estate there is an extensive correspondence with Liesl Karlstadt and Joachim Ringelnatz .

In Wasserburg a Peter-Scher-Weg commemorates the author.
