Peter Hartmuth Spohr (born February 27, 1828 in Deutz , † February 10, 1921 in Gießen ) was a Prussian officer and author of numerous military writings. His main interest, however, was the horses ( classical riding art and medicine) as well as the naturopathic treatment methods of his time (including the role of medicine in my life , the leg and hoof problems of horses , the logic in the art of riding ).

Life

As an artillery officer in the Prussian Army, Spohr took part in the war against France in 1870/71 and was awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class. Most recently he was a lieutenant colonel and acted as commander of the foot artillery regiment No. 15 until he was put up for disposal on March 24, 1881 with the statutory pension . On September 19, 1891 he was given the character of a colonel .

He can be seen as one of the founders of naturopathy in veterinary medicine . His main work is undoubtedly The Logic in the Art of Riding , a four-volume riding instruction and detailed analysis of the relationships between aids and training and the anatomical relationships and movement sequences of horses, which reached a previously unknown level.
