Peter way
Peter Weise (born September 17, 1941 in Georgenthal ( Thuringia )) is a German economist .
Life
Peter Weise attended from 1948 to 1952, the primary school in Wolfsburg and visited thereafter until 1961, the local council school . On February 24, 1961, he graduated from high school with the Abitur. From April 4, 1961 to June 30, 1962, he did his basic military service .
Weise studied economics at the University of Göttingen from 1962 to 1966 and thus earned the title of Diplom-Volkswirt . In 1971 he was awarded a Dr. rer. pol ( summa cum laude ) PhD . He stayed until 1976 as an assistant to the economics department in Göttingen and was then appointed to a professorship at the University of Paderborn (at that time still Paderborn University). In 1982 he switched to the professorship for economics with a social science orientation at the University of Kassel (then still University of Kassel). There he was elected Dean of the Faculty of Economics from 1991 to 1992. On September 30, 2006, Weise retired.
His main research interests are applied microeconomics , business cycle theory , institutional economics and evolutionary economics . Peter Weise is co-founder and longstanding co-editor of the yearbook Economy and Society . For a number of years he has also been doing research in the field of economic analysis of law , for example the economic analysis of legal remedies . In teaching he received a. a. the award for the best lecture in the Department of Economics and was chosen as the second best lecturer at the University of Kassel.
