Peter Wilkinson (athlete)
Peter Alan Wilkinson (born June 27, 1933 - February 2014 ) was a British marathon runner .
In 1958 he was fourth in the Polytechnic Marathon in 2:24:12 h . At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff he won bronze for England in 2:24:42 h, and at the European Athletics Championships in Stockholm he was fourth in 2:21:40 h.
In 1959 he won the Doncaster to Sheffield marathon in 2:24:56 h, and in 1960 he set his personal best in this run in second with 2:19:54 h.
The following year he defended his title in Sheffield and won the Polytechnic Marathon and the Enschede Marathon . At the Košice Marathon he was sixth and fourth at the Fukuoka Marathon .
In 1962 he was fifth in the English Championship and eighth in the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth .
