Peter Zimmermann (born August 13, 1951 in East Berlin ) is a German actor .

Life

Peter Zimmermann completed his acting training at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts . Even before his studies he was on stage at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin. Later he played on various theaters in Berlin, Karl-Marx-Stadt (now Chemnitz), Zittau, Nordhausen and Frankfurt / Oder. His first cinema roles were the films Achilles Heel and Till Death Do You Part (1979). In 1985, the film Die Frau und der Fremde, in which he played one of the leading roles, won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale (director: Rainer Simon).

From 1994 he was a professor at the Academy of Film and Television in Babelsberg . From 2006 to 2009 he played in the ZDF - Telenovela Path to Happiness , the role of the multimillionaire Richard van Weyden .
