Peter Ludwig Christian von Kobbe (born October 6, 1793 in Glückstadt ; † September 11, 1844 in Winterhude ) was a German author , writer and lawyer .

Life

His parents were Anton Dietrich von Kobbe and Louise Adelaide Christiane geb. Countess of Rantzau -Ahrenberg. His father was an officer in the Danish Garde du Corps and held the office of governor on the island of Föhr and in Friedrichstadt , his mother was the daughter of the then Uetersen monastery provost Peter zu Rantzau . In 1802 the marriage was divorced. Von Kobbe spent his youth in Uetersen like his brother Theodor and served in the Danish army until 1820. He then studied law and became a lawyer . In 1824 he was elected mayor of Wunstorf and resigned from office in 1831, then moved to Hanover and from 1833 lived again in Uetersen and Altona. Living in Ratzeburg from 1835 on, he did a lot of historical studies and last lived as a private citizen in Winterhude, where he died of a hemorrhage .

His family belongs to the old Bremen ministerial families of the so-called "Osterstader Junker" and is the coat of arms of a tribe with the old extinct von Mertzel , de Mercele. But the Kobbes never ran the "from". Peter and Theodor and like their father only accepted it as Danish or Austrian officers because of the military nobility.
