Peter von der Heydt Freiherr von Massenbach

Peter von der Heydt Freiherr von und zu Massenbach (born September 2, 1938 in Neuhof , Waren district , Mecklenburg ; † December 29, 2008 in Cologne ) was a German CDU politician .

After graduating from high school in Kirchheim / Teck , he completed an apprenticeship in banking from 1957 to 1959, but from 1958 he also studied business administration in Munich and at Tulane University in New Orleans , Louisiana . He graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree.

From 1963 to 1967 he was assistant director of a chemical company and in 1968 he moved to the Delbrück & Co bank as authorized signatory . From 1970 to 2002 he was co-owner of this in "Delbrück von der Heydt & Co." renamed bank. Since then he has been active as a consultant and member of the supervisory board of Delbrück Bethmann Maffei AG. In 2006 he was also a member of the supervisory board of Deutsche REIT AG.

He joined the CDU in 1966 and was primarily involved in its subsidiary SME Association , for which he was elected to the German Bundestag in 1976 via the state list of North Rhine-Westphalia . In 1980 he ran for election in the Mettmann I constituency , but only entered the federal parliament via the state list, to which he was a member until 1983.

Born as Freiherr von und zu Massenbach , he received his well-known Bergisch surname von der Heydt through adoption. He was married and had five children.

Peter von der Heydt Freiherr von und zu Massenbach was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
