The district of Waren was a district in the Neubrandenburg district of the GDR . From 1990 to 1994 it existed as the district of Waren in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . His area is now part of the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The seat of the district administration was in goods .

history

On July 25, 1952, there was an extensive administrative reform in the GDR , during which, among other things, the states of the GDR lost their importance and new districts were established. The former district of Waren gave municipalities to the new districts of Teterow , Röbel / Müritz and Neustrelitz . From the remaining district area, the new district Waren with seat in Waren was formed. The district was assigned to the newly formed Neubrandenburg district .

On May 17, 1990, the district became the district of Waren. On the occasion of the reunification of the two German states, the district was awarded to the re-established state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . During the first regional reform in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , which came into force on June 12, 1994, it went into the Müritz district .

The district of Waren was integrated into the GDR's motorway network through the Berlin Ring – Rostock motorway. The F 108 from Waren in the direction of Rostock and the F 192 from Wismar via Waren to Neubrandenburg also served national road traffic .

The district area was integrated into the GDR railway network by the railway lines Waren – Malchin , Neustrelitz – Waren – Rostock and Waren – Parchim .

License Plate

Motor vehicles (with the exception of motorcycles) and trailers were assigned three-letter distinctive signs starting with the letter pairs CT and CV from around 1974 to the end of 1990 . The last number plate series used for motorcycles was CT 00-01 to CT 15-00 .

At the beginning of 1991 the district received the distinctive sign WRN . It was issued until June 11, 1994. It has been available in the Mecklenburg Lake District since March 18, 2013 .
