Petersbrunn is a district of Starnberg in the Upper Bavarian district of Starnberg . The hamlet in the Würmtal is about one kilometer north of Starnberg and can be reached via State Road 2063 .

history

The settlement emerged from a bathing establishment at the source that gave it its name, which has been documented since the 16th century and was expanded into spa facilities in the 18th century. Of the historical buildings, only the St. Peter's Chapel remains.

A mortgage note from Duke Wilhelm of Munich, which was used for the construction of the bath, has come down to us from 1513. The source, which contains carbonic and hydrochloric acid, has a beneficial effect on skin diseases, gout and rheumatism, for example.

Next to the chapel there is a memorial for the death march of concentration camp inmates from the Dachau concentration camp in the last days of the war.

On May 1, 1978, the previously independent community of Leutstetten with Petersbrunn and other districts was incorporated into Starnberg.
