Petra Kilian

Petra Kilian (born February 2, 1965 in Lage ) is a German costume designer and artist .

Life and accomplishments

After completing an apprenticeship as a tailor from 1984 to 1986, Petra Kilian attended a fashion college before working as a freelance costume assistant from 1989 to 1994. Since 1995 she has been employed regularly as a costume designer for German film. a. together with many directors. In 2003 she was nominated for the television film With my back to the wall for the German Television Award and also in 2017 for the television film Der Fall Jakob von Metzler . She is a member of the German Film Academy and the German Academy for Television .

Between 2006 and 2008 she designed the clothing line “laugh + peas” together with the singer Nena . Since 2005 she has also been working as a concept artist.
