The steam locomotives of the class P 1 III of the Pfalzbahn were passenger locomotives .

A total of nine specimens of this type were made by Maffei. The second series with three copies produced in 1884 differed slightly in terms of the main dimensions from the machines from 1880, but otherwise corresponded to the vehicles of the P 1.II series. Five copies of the Deutsche Reichsbahn were redrawn to the class 34.74 , they were given the numbers 34 7411-7415. However, these were retired in the mid-1920s. The locomotives are said to have had around 430 PSi.

The vehicles were equipped with type 3 T 9.8 tenders.
