history
Pfaffendorf was formed in 1931 from Niederpfaffendorf and Oberpfaffendorf . The place belonged to the district of Görlitz , from 1947 to the district of Weißwasser-Görlitz and from 1952 to the district of Görlitz . Pfaffendorf was parish to Markersdorf. The municipality of Pfaffendorf lost its independence in 1972 when Pfaffendorf and Schlauroth merged to form Pfaffendorf-Schlauroth . This congregation split up again in 1984 into its original congregations. Pfaffendorf remained independent for another ten years until it was incorporated into Markersdorf in 1994. In the same year, the district of Görlitz became part of the Lower Silesian Upper Lusatia District , which became part of the new district of Görlitz on August 1, 2008 through the district reform of Saxony in 2008 .
