Jauernick-Buschbach ( Upper Sorbian Jawernik-Nechow ) is a district of the Saxon community of Markersdorf in the district of Görlitz .

Jauernick-Buschbach is located about six kilometers southeast of Markersdorf in Upper Lusatia . The place is on the Berzdorf lake , which extends in the southeast. Jauernick-Buschbach is the southernmost district of Markersdorf with Friedersdorf to the west . The State Road 111 runs north of the map in the direction Friedersdorf and Görlitz . To the west of the village is the Black Mountain .

history

Jauernick-Buschbach was formed in 1936 from Jauernick and the place Niecha , which was renamed to “Buschbach” in the course of the National Socialist Germanization of Sorbian place names . The new community belonged to the district of Görlitz . In 1947 the place became part of the Weißwasser-Görlitz district and in 1952 of the Görlitz district . Jauernick-Buschbach lost its independence in 1994 when it was incorporated into Markersdorf. In the same year, the district of Görlitz became part of the Lower Silesian Upper Lusatia District , which became part of the new district of Görlitz on August 1, 2008 through the district reform of Saxony in 2008 .

The collegiate church of St. Wenzeslaus in Jauernick, consecrated in 1443 , is the oldest church in the Catholic diocese of Görlitz . Today it is the only Catholic church in the community of Markersdorf and a branch church of the parish St. Wenzel with its seat in Görlitz . The diocese maintains the “Sankt-Wenzeslaus-Stift” educational center in Jauernick.

The evangelical mountain chapel in Jauernick is assigned to the reconciliation parish of Görlitz in the parish of Silesian Upper Lusatia of the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia .
