The parish church Geinberg is in the municipality of Geinberg in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Michael belongs to the dean's office Altheim in the diocese of Linz . The church and the cemetery with the cemetery wall are under monument protection .

history

A church was mentioned in documents in 1130. The Gothic church building was converted to baroque style .

architecture

The single - nave four-bay nave and the two-bay choir with a three-eighth end have Gothic vaults, the ribs of which were chipped off and stuccoed in 1710/1720. The three-axis west gallery has a ribbed vault . The tower in the southern corner of the choir was converted into an octagon at the top and has a remarkably high roof with an onion with a lantern and above it another onion from the beginning of the 19th century. The five-bay north chapel around 1719 was expanded in 1911 and shows stucco from the construction period.

There are gravestones on the outside of the church, with a full relief figure Johann Goldharmer 1480, with a relief knee figure 1519, with a coat of arms 1549.

Furnishing

The rococo high altar is from the third quarter of the 18th century and has an altarpiece from the end of the 17th century. The side altars were made around 1670. The right side altar bears a figure of Florian in the manner of the figure Florian in the parish church of Ried im Innkreis by Thomas Schwanthaler . In the choir is a small group of carved crosses from the third quarter of the 18th century. The Rococo pulpit dates from the third quarter of the 18th century.
