Catholic parish church of St. Nicholas in Kaisersdorf

The Roman Catholic parish church Kaisersdorf is located in the municipality of Kaisersdorf in the Oberpullendorf district in Burgenland . It is consecrated to St. Nicholas and belongs to the dean's office in Oberpullendorf in the Eisenstadt diocese . The building is under monument protection ( list entry ).

history

The parish was founded before 1579. The church was renovated in 1644 using older masonry and restored in 1955.

Church building

Church exterior

The church is a rectangular building with an apse that is equally wide and round. The front west tower is three-story and has a pointed helmet. The decoration dates from the 19th century. The south portal has a porch. On the north side, the sacristy and a storage room under a towing roof connect .

Church interior

The nave of the church consists of three bays with a barrel vault with stitch caps . The vault rests on mighty pilasters . There is stucco decoration in the crown of the vault. The west gallery rests on wooden supports with straight parapets. The wide triumphal arch and the choir come from the late Baroque expansion phase. The interior somewhat retracted choir has a square vault , the flat round apse a bowl vault.

Furnishing

The high altar from 1747 comes from the disbanded Camaldolese monastery in Landsee . It is a late baroque columned altar with sacrificial portals. Canon tables can be seen on the flat tabernacle wall . A small picture shows the Last Supper with putti . It is flanked by holy figures of saints Joseph and John Nepomuk framed in white . Saints George and Florian are depicted above the sacrificial portals . In the central niche there is a figure of St. Nicholas. The right side altar was built around 1740. The altar is flat and has a cornice. The pillars are richly structured. The altarpiece shows St. Joseph. The altar figures show the saints Florian and Joseph at the bottom. Above the holy Trinity , as well as the saints Laurentius and Stephanus is depicted. The pulpit was built around 1700. Standing figures of the four evangelists with Christ are depicted on the basket. The figure of Moses with putti is on the cover .

organ

The organ was built by Anton Tauss in 1862 and transferred from the church to Holzschlag in 1937 .

Bell jar

The bell was cast in 1772 by Johann Josef Pfistermeister in Ödenburg .
