The Roman Catholic parish church Lölling is located in the cadastral community of Lölling Graben in the market town of Hüttenberg and is dedicated to St. George .

Building description

The late Gothic church with a nave extended by a yoke to the west has a recessed, polygonal choir and a mighty tower on the north side of the nave. A baroque side chapel is built to the north of the choir . The tower has two-lane acoustic windows with tracery and is crowned by a pointed gable helmet. During the restoration in 1994, a small, late Gothic tracery frieze and fragments of a St. Christopher fresco were uncovered on the south facade .

Over the three Gothic bays of the nave and the choir, ribbed vaults rest on consoles with coats of arms. The keystones are partly in relief, partly painted and show coats of arms, flowers and stars. The church has simple two and three-part tracery windows. A barred keel arch portal leads into the star-vaulted sacristy on the tower ground floor. The mural from 1602 on the north wall of the nave depicts poor Lazarus and the rich Prasser as well as a picture of the donors from the Rauscher family.

Facility

Nikolaus Seher from St. Veit an der Glan donated the baroque high altar from 1705. On the altar are the carved figures of Saints Johann Nepomuk and Franz Xaver as well as Saint George in the top, flanked by Saints Catherine and Barbara .

The left side altar from 1663 consists of an aedicule above a base with large consoles, twisted column shafts and a blown volute gable with a small aedicule as an attachment. The base, entablature and side ears are adorned with rich cartilage . In the center there is a crescent Madonna and a figure of Christ in the top. The top of the altar is the figure of St. Nicholas , and St. Barbara on the right side altar.

The pulpit from the middle of the 18th century has been converted into an ambo . In the choir there is a console figure of Christ at rest . Balthasar Lattacher's coat of arms slab from 1631 is attached to the north wall of the nave. The Stations of the Cross painted in 1847 Andreas Hauser.
