Church exterior

The church is a baroque Gothic building with an adjoining cemetery. The north tower is crowned with a pointed helmet. The choir has moved in and closed in 5/8. The late Gothic building is structured on the outside by triangular pilaster strips and a cornice. The two pointed arch portals have fillets. The late Gothic portal made of red marble is embedded in the curved west facade . Above it stands a figure of St. Rupert from the 17th century in a niche.

Church interior

In the choir there is a stitch cap vault with pilasters . Above the nave is a lattice vault (= wooden shell vault ). The painted stucco and the frescoes are documented by Christoph Anton Mayr from around 1765. The “Glory of St. Rupert” is depicted in the choir. In the nave, the "expulsion of St. Rupert from Worms ", the "baptism of Duke Theodo ", the "episcopal ordination of the successor of St. Rupert" and the "veneration of the Holy Cross " are depicted in a ceiling painting . A second picture shows the “Mass and burial of St. Rupert”, “St. Francis Xavier baptizes the Gentiles”, “ The Purification of Mary ” and St. John Nepomuk .

Furnishing

The high altar in the Rococo style originally stood in the Fiegerkapelle of the parish church in Hall in Tirol . On the altar there is the miraculous image " Mary with the child " from around 1440. It is most likely a copy. It is flanked by figures of Saints Florian , Sebastian , Rupert, and Virgil . These figures from around 1765 are attributed to Franz Xaver Nißl . The side altars were created in the form of reliefs. On the left side altar are the fourteen helpers in need , on the right the "Stoning of St. Stephen ". These are also attributed to Franz Xaver Nißl and were created in 1842. The pulpit with acanthus decor and figures of the four church fathers, St. Boniface and a figure of St. Paul dates from around 1700. The Way of the Cross was painted in 1840 by Johann Endfelder . The stained glass windows were painted in the Neo- Rococo style in 1895 and 1906.

On the outside of the church there are gravestones for the Counts Lodron (1695–1791) and cast iron plates from the Jenbach works . They were cast for Matthäus and Johann Zimmermann († 1850/1880), Thomas Zimmermann († 1850) and Alois Greiderer († 1889).
