The Pfostenbach is a 1.9 km long right tributary of the Nesselbach in the urban area of Aalen in the Ostalbkreis in eastern Baden-Württemberg .

course

The Pfostenbach created between the forest around the island Dreherhof and Schwalbenhof unstable in a meadow. The stream runs east-northeast throughout, passes the Schwalbenhof a little to the north and takes on a second spring branch of almost the same length south of the Hüttenhöfe from the west, then to the east of this hamlet its longest, approximately east- south- east converging tributary, which arises in Scheurenfeld south of the forest island Kirchholz . Less than two hundred meters downhill, this time coming from the right and south-west, is its last side ditch, which, like all other branches, does not only carry water at the beginning, but consistently only inconsistently. Finally, the Pfostenbach crosses under Neßlauer Straße (K 3326) and flows into the upper Nesselbach on the other side opposite Aalen- Hammerstadt .

Until the last-mentioned tributary begins, the Pfostenbach and its tributaries are very straight and almost wood-free meadow ditches. Then the lower course takes a natural course with alder and willow vegetation .

history

Sources of the Pfostenbach lie on both sides of the route of the Upper Germanic-Raetian Limes, which runs from southwest to northeast .
