Phạm Lê Thảo Nguyên (born December 7, 1987 in Vietnam ) is a Vietnamese chess player .

Life

Phạm Lê Thảo Nguyên attended the Đoàn Thị Điểm secondary school in Hanoi until 2002, the Châu Văn Liêm high school in Mỹ Luông, Chợ Mới district, An Giang province until 2005 and the Cần Thơ University in Cần Thơ until 2009 . She is in a relationship with the chess grandmaster Nguyễn Ngọc Trường Sơn .

She plays club chess in Vietnam and since 2010 also in China, there initially for Guangdong , from 2011 to 2015 for Qingdao and 2019 for Beijing .

successes

She won the ASEAN U18 individual championship for women in 2005 in Pattaya . In 2010 she won the Vietnamese Women's Individual Championship in Ho Chi Minh City . At the Asian women's championship in 2011 in Mashhad , she was second behind D. Harika .

She played for the Vietnamese national women's team at the 2007 , 2009 and 2011 World Team Championships and the 2008 , 2010 , 2012 and 2014 Chess Olympiads . At the Chess Olympiad 2010 she achieved the third best individual result on the second board. In 2009 she won the Asian Women's Team Championship in Calcutta while playing on the second board, and in 2012 she took third place on the top board at the Asian Women's Team Championship in Zaozhuang . She also took part with the Vietnamese women's team in the chess competitions of the 2010 Asian Games and in the 2009 Asian Indoor Games on the second women's board of the Vietnamese team.

In June 2009 she received the title of International Women's Champion (WIM). The standards for this she achieved with her fourth place in the Zone Tournament of women on Phu Quoc in January 2007 and at the Chess Olympiad Women 2008 in Dresden . She has been the Women's Grand Master (WGM) since June 2011. She achieved WGM standards at a tournament in Ho Chi Minh City in December 2009 and at the 2010 Women's Chess Olympiad (also an IM standard with overachievement) and the Asian women's individual championship in May 2011 (also an IM norm). She achieved further standards for obtaining the title of International Master (IM) at the 2011 Women's World Team Championship and the second INA Open in Jakarta in October 2012. The IM title was awarded to her in January 2013.

In December 2015, she tops the Vietnamese women's Elo ranking.
