Phil Bennett (racing driver)
Philip "Phil" Bennett (born October 6, 1971 in Kingswinford ) is a former British racing driver .
Racing career
After his early years in monoposto racing, Phil Bennett was mainly active in the British Touring Car Championship in the 2000s . In 2001 he drove a Vauxhall Astra Coupé and finished fourth in the championship behind Jason Plato , Yvan Muller and James Thompson . He could not match this good result in the following seasons.
In 2005 he got into sports car racing . He made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and competed in the European and American Le Mans Series . In 2005 he finished the Le Mans Series season in fourth in the LMP2 class.
