Philipp Amelung

Philipp Amelung (* 1973 in Marburg ) is a German conductor and university music director at the University of Tübingen .

Philipp Amelung grew up in the Bavarian village of Icking south of Munich and began his musical career at the age of eight in the Tölzer boys' choir . He studied singing, choir conducting and orchestral conducting at the Munich University of Music. Amelung conducted the Munich Symphony , the Karlsbader Symphony and the Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc , among others .

Since April 1, 2011, he has succeeded Tobias Hiller in the position of university music director and thus directs the academic choir, the academic orchestra and the Camerata vocalis at the University of Tübingen.
