Philipp Friedrich Freiherr von Breuner (* 1601 ; † March 25, 1638 near Warnemünde ) was Feldzeugmeister in the Imperial Army , then treasurer in the Imperial Army of Wallenstein and colonel of a regiment on foot ( Jung-Breuner ). His parents were Kasper von Breuner and Anna Maria von Trautmannsdorf .

At the beginning of the Thirty Years' War , Philipp F. von Breuner distinguished himself in various undertakings and appeared in 1625 as a colonel in a regiment with whom he supported Hans Christoph von Löbel and Auersberg in the suppression of the Austrian peasant uprising . Then he fought in northern Germany under Pappenheim against the Danes. His cousin, Feldzeugmeister Johann Philipp von Breuner , also fought as a colonel in the von Wallenstein army, but fell in the battle of Lützen . Philipp F. von Breuner initially continued to fight in the army of Wallenstein, which after his death came under the command of Gallas for a short time . In the summer of 1634 he took part in the siege of Regensburg with his regiment , was seriously wounded in June as commander of a general storm on the city, was taken prisoner and survived his wounding. It is not known whether he commanded his regiment in the battle of Nördlingen in September 1635 . He took part in the reconquest of the Swedish-occupied city of Heidelberg , then moved with the imperial army towards the Baltic Sea and died of a heated fever during the siege of Warnemünde . His body was transferred to Vienna and buried in the Schottenkirche in Vienna .
