Philipp Schreiner

Philipp Schreiner (born February 23, 1846 in Tiefenthal ; † February 17, 1914 in Triesdorf ) was a scientist, teacher and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Schreiner attended the Latin school in Grünstadt and graduated from the grammar school in Zweibrücken . He then studied natural sciences and economics at the Universities of Erlangen , Munich and Tübingen . In the war against France he was Lieutenant of the Landwehr of the 5th Bavarian Jäger Battalion. From 1871 to 1874 he was assistant for agricultural chemistry at the agricultural central research station and at the agricultural department of the technical university in Munich. From 1874 he was a teacher of natural sciences in Triesdorf at the district arable farming school and head of the agricultural research station for Middle Franconia. He was also a member of the district and district committee of the agricultural association.

On January 17, 1880 he was elected to the German Reichstag for the first time in a by-election for the retired deputy Gottfried von Feder in the constituency of Middle Franconia 5 ( Gunzenhausen , Dinkelsbühl , Feuchtwangen ). He exercised this mandate for the National Liberal Party until 1890 .
