Philipp Schumacher (ice hockey player)
Philipp Schumacher (born August 3, 1979 in Mannheim ) is a German ice hockey player who currently plays in the Baden-Württembergliga. Between 1997 and 2002 he played 120 DEL games for the Adler Mannheim and Frankfurt Lions .
Player career
The 1.90 m tall striker began his career in the youth of the Mannheim ERC , in 1994 he played for the young eagles for the first time , the junior team of the newly spun off professional team Adler Mannheim .
In the DEL , the left-handed shooter was on the ice for the first time in the 1997/98 season . Schumacher played 32 first division games for the Adler by 2000 and became German champion in 1999 . For the following season , the attacker signed a contract with league rivals Frankfurt Lions , for which he played for two years and which he then left for EC Bad Nauheim from the 2nd Bundesliga .
In 2004 Schumacher returned to Mannheim, where he played on an amateur basis for the Mannheim ERC in the Baden-Württemberg League and studied dentistry in Heidelberg.
International
Philip Schumacher played twelve games for the German junior national team at the U20 World Championships in 1998 and 1999 . In 2001 he was nominated for the men's national team by Hans Zach. He graduated from the Slovakia Cup and scored one goal in three games.
