Philipp Zeiger (born June 28, 1990 in Dresden ) is a German soccer player . He plays the position of central defender .

Career

At the age of 16, Zeiger moved from FV Dresden-Nord to the youth department of Dynamo Dresden . He made his professional debut in the 3rd division on July 28, 2009 (2nd matchday), when he was substituted on for Halil Savran in the 89th minute of the 0-1 away defeat of the Elbestädter against SV Wehen Wiesbaden . After 16 appearances (no goal) in its first season, Zeiger extended his contract by two years until June 30, 2012 at the beginning of July 2010. The new contract also included a one-year loan to the regional league club VFC Plauen .

After his return at the beginning of the 2011/12 season , Zeiger was not taken back into the first team of Dynamo Dresden. Therefore, his contract with the Elbestädtern was canceled by mutual agreement and he signed a new two-year contract with VFC Plauen, his loan club from the previous season. At VFC Plauen, Zeiger played a total of 56 games in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons, in which he scored three goals before signing a free transfer with Hallescher FC until June 30, 2014.

After two years at Halleschen FC, in which he made 37 games for the first team, he moved to the Regionalliga West at Rot-Weiss Essen in the summer of 2014 . With Essen, he won the Niederrhein Cup in 2015 and 2016 . In the summer of 2020 he moved to the Regionalliga Nordost for VSG Altglienicke .
