Phillip Francis Straling
Phillip Francis Straling (born April 25, 1933 in San Bernardino ) is former Bishop of Reno .
Life
Phillip Francis Straling was ordained a priest for the Diocese of San Diego on March 19, 1959 .
Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of San Bernardino on July 14, 1978 . The Archbishop of Los Angeles , Cardinal Timothy Manning , ordained him episcopal on November 6 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were John Raphael Quinn , Archbishop of San Francisco , and Leo Thomas Maher , Bishop of San Diego.
On March 21, 1995, he was named Bishop of Reno . He resigned from his office on June 21, 2005.
