Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney ( Japanese. 逆 転 裁判 蘇 る 逆 転 , Gyakuten saiban - Yomigaeru gyakuten , German: " U- turn in the court - the return") is an extended implementation for the Nintendo DS of the first part of the court simulation series or occasionally as Adventure designated computer game series Ace Attorney video game maker Capcom .
The original version appeared in 2001 for the Game Boy Advance from Nintendo under the name Gyakuten saiban ( 逆 転 裁判 ) exclusively in Japan. In 2005 a PC version was released under the same name, also exclusively in Japan. In 2005 a new version for the Nintendo DS followed , which contains an additional 5th chapter. In May 2010 the game was also released as an iOS version in English. In addition, the game, together with the two direct successors Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations, was also available for download in 2014 as Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy exclusively in English on Nintendo 3DS made available. This version as a trilogy was also released for Nintendo Switch , PlayStation 4 , Xbox One and Microsoft Windows in 2019, for which a German voice output was submitted later.
Game principle and content
In the first part, the player slips into the role of the young lawyer (criminal defense attorney) Phoenix Wright ( 成 歩 堂 龍 一 Naruhodō Ryūichi ), who has to deal directly with a murder in his first court hearing . The game contains five playable cases, of which the fifth is only playable in every version from the Nintendo DS , i.e. also in the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy , and was specially programmed for this. In this fifth case, the game makes use of the new Nintendo DS features, e.g. B. microphone etc.
Since the game was originally released for the Game Boy Advance, the Nintendo DS version player was offered relatively simple, but very detailed game graphics. Also, only use of the game buttons A, B, X, Y, Select, Start, L and R is made in these cases. New in the Nintendo DS version: You can alternatively play with the touchscreen . The microphone can also be used in some cases, but this is not absolutely necessary. For the Ace Attorney Trilogy , the graphics have been improved again and console-specific adjustments have been made for all consoles on which it runs.
