Piero Pierotti

Piero Pierotti (born January 1, 1912 in Pisa , † May 4, 1970 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Pierotti, a journalist by training and later a theater director, graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia after completing his studies that lasted from 1937 to 1939. He was initially responsible for a number of documentaries, including Itinerario sull'Arno , Le montagne dei miracoli , Acque verdi , Viaggio in Sila , Piste per reattori and Favola d'oggi . From 1941 onwards he worked as an assistant director and in this role he took part in several more important films, such as the dramatized biographies of Enrico Caruso and Giuseppe Verdi . From 1955 onwards he also worked on scripts and directed his first own film in 1958. Pierotti directed a total of 15 films and wrote 34 scripts; he worked in the trendy genres , especially for adventure and sandal films . He used the pseudonym Peter E. Stanley in some of his films .
