He also appeared in the Waterland Trio and in a trio with Hampel and the guitarist Jan Akkerman . In 1992 he founded a new quintet that played his own compositions and aimed at the music-making attitude of Charles Mingus . After 2000 he played in the trio of Joe van Enkhuizen . He currently plays in his Vijfkwarts sextet with Toon de Gouw , Jasper Blom , Ilja Reijngoud, Willem Kühne and Niko Langenhuijsen .
