Pierre Sagna

Pierre Sagna CSSp (born July 11, 1932 in Ziguinchor , Senegal ; † May 24, 2008 in Dakar , Senegal) was a Roman Catholic bishop of the diocese of Saint-Louis du Sénégal .

Life

Pierre Sagna joined the religious community of Spiritaner and was ordained a priest on October 4, 1959. 1974 he was by Paul VI. appointed Bishop of Saint-Louis du Sénégal, a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Dakar . He received his episcopal consecration on May 11, 1975, the bishop of Ziguinchor Augustin Sagna ; Co - consecrators were the later Cardinal Théodore-Adrien Sarr , Bishop of Kaolack in Senegal, and Michael Joseph Moloney , Bishop of Bathurst in Gambia.

His age-related resignation was granted in 2003 by John Paul II . He lived as an emeritus in Brusubi in Gambia .
