Pierre Zucca (born July 10, 1943 in Paris , † January 15, 1995 ibid ) was a French still photographer , director and screenwriter .

life and work

Pierre Zucca was born to André Zucca . He photographed film stills for numerous auteur films . As a film fan, friend of Jean Eustache and Jean-André Fieschi , he made his debut in 1963 in the film Judex by Georges Franju . He photographed among other things, on the set of The Nun by Jacques Rivette , the Trans-Europ-Express by Alain Robbe-Grillet , The Wild Child of François Truffaut and My little lover of Jean Eustache. With the Leica around his neck, Pierre Zucca was known for secretly and discreetly (in the words of Claude Chabrol ) doing his work without interfering with the film set. Zucca directed in addition to his photographic activity. His first long film was Vincent Put the Donkey on One Meadow (and Walked to the Other) (1976). Fabrice Luchini got his first major role in this film (as Vincent). The film Roberte (1979) was made in collaboration with Pierre Klossowski , with whom Zucca was close friends. Rouge-gorge was published in 1985 and Alouette, je te plumerai in 1988. Pierre Zucca was also a screenwriter and director of short films.

Pierre Zucca was buried in the Père-Lachaise cemetery (section 59) in Paris.
