Pilo Peristeri

Pilo Peristeri (born December 10, 1909 in Korça , † August 5, 2009 ) was an Albanian politician of the Party of Labor of Albania .

biography

After the founding of the People's Republic of Albania on January 11, 1946, Pilosteri became a member of the People's Assembly ( Kuvendi Popullor ) in 1950 and was a member of the People's Assembly ( Kuvendi Popullor ) from the second to the end of the eleventh legislative period in 1991, where he represented the Pogradec district . In addition, he was a member of the Central Committee (ZK) of the PPSh.

In 1951, he succeeded Gogo Nushi as chairman of the general council of the BSSh ( Bashkimi Sindikal i Shqipërisë ) trade union federation .

At the 2nd party congress of the PPSh he was elected as a candidate for the Politburo in April 1952 and held this position within the highest body of the party leadership until November 1981.

He was confirmed in the position of Chairman of the General Council of the BSSh at the 4th Congress of the BSSh in February 1955. On June 22, 1958, Gogo Nushi succeeded him as chairman of the trade union federation. Pilosteri himself remained a member of the secretariat of the BSSh and was also chairman of the PPSh's party control commission. At the 5th Congress of the trade union federation he was elected as a member of the Presidium of the General Council in April 1961, but left the secretariat of the BSSh.

In addition, he was at times Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the People's Assembly and thus representative of President Haxhi Lleshi . Peristeri, who belonged to the inner circle of the party's so-called "old guard", was also the companion of Enver Hoxha , the first secretary of the PPSh, and Prime Minister Mehmet Shehu on business trips in the country and social events.

After leaving the Politburo, he remained a member of the Central Committee like Spiro Koleka and Haki Toska and in April 1985 also took part in the funeral services for the deceased Enver Hoxha.

His wife's sister was married to Manush Myftiu , a Politburo member .

In addition, he also published some theoretical writings such as Fjala e mbajtur në kongresin III. të Partisë së punës së Shqipërisë (1956) and Përsosja e metejshme e organizimit të punës në industrinë mekanike - kusht themelor për zhvillimin e saj. Diskutim në kongresin VI të PPSH (1971).
