Pittsburg is the district capital and seat of the county seat of Camp County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located in northeast Texas at the intersection of US Highway 271 and Highway 11, about 100 km southwest of Texarkana , is approximately 90 km away from Oklahoma in the north and Arkansas in the east and has a total area of 8.7 km 2 of which 0.1 km 2 is water.

According to the 2000 census, 4,347 people lived here in 1,593 households and 1,056 families. The population density was 502.5 people per km 2 . The racial the population was composed of 54.50% White, 27.97% African American, 0.30% Native American, 0.16% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, and 15.76% other ethnic groups. About 1.27% were of mixed race and 23.86% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
