Piz Nair (Ofenpass)

The Piz Nair ( [ˌpitsˈnaɪ̯r] ? / I , Rhaeto-Romanic in the idiom Vallader for "black peak") is a mountain northwest of the Münster valley in the Swiss canton of Graubünden . Along a south-north ridge, the mountain forms the border between the political communities Tschierv in the east and Zernez in the west. It forms the southwest corner point of the frame of the Val Nüglia . Audio file / audio sample

Piz Nair is north of the watershed on the Ofen Pass . This means that the area is completely drained into the Inn and thus into the Black Sea , although the municipality of Tschierv mostly drains southwards via Rambach and Etsch into the Adriatic.
