The Piz Turba ( Rhaeto-Romanic from the Franconian turba for ' peat ') is a mountain south of Juf and north of Bergell in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland with a height of 3,018 m above sea level. M. The proximity to Juf and the ski area of Bivio he is a popular, easy-to-reach mountain ski tours.
Location and surroundings
The Piz Turba belongs to the Piz Turba - Piz Scalotta chain , a subgroup of the Oberhalbsteiner Alps . The municipal boundaries between Avers , Surses and Bregaglia meet at the summit . The Piz Turba is bordered in the north by the Juferalpa, in the east by the Val Turba and in the south-west by the Val Lunga.
To the neighboring peaks of include Piz Forcellina , the Piz Mäder , the Piz Piot , the gray horns and the Juferhorn .
Valley locations are Juf and Casaccia . A frequent starting point in winter is the mountain station of the Bivio sports facilities.

Over the turbo glacier
The Turbo Glacier has receded to a small patch of snow at the northwest foot of Piz Forcellina
- From Bivio over the Alp da Sett to the cross just before the Septimerpass ( 2268 m ), then to the right to the Forcellina
- From Casaccia through the Val Maroz over the Septimerpass ( 2310 m ) and then to the Forcellina
- From Juf to Forcellina
- Difficulty: EB , marked as a white-red-white hiking trail to Forcellina .
- Time required (1 hour from the Forcellina, 2 hours from the Septimerpass):
- 4½ hours from Bivio
- 4½ hours from Casaccia
- 2¾ hours from Juf
Through the Val Turba
- Starting point: Casaccia ( 1458 m )
- Via: Septimerweg to P. 2189, then through the Val Turba to the ridge between Piz Forcellina and Piz Turba, then onto the north slope
- Difficulty: BG
- Time required: 4½ hours
Over the south ridge
- Starting point: Casaccia ( 1458 m )
- Via: P. 2870 (ridge between Piz Turba and Piz Mäder), then via the south ridge (bypass individual peaks on the left)

Over the west ridge

- Note: Not very suitable as a descent
Departure to Juf
Impressive steep descent, which requires absolutely safe conditions (35–40 ° at 400 m ), the entrance to the couloir up to 45 °. The couloir is not easy to find from above.
