Suddenly Grandpa is the title of a German comedy film that was produced by ARD and Degeto in 2004, but was not seen on German television for the first time until 2006.
action
The parents of thirteen-year-old Jonas Ettenberger were killed in a traffic accident. Now, by order of the youth welfare office , the Hamburg city boy has to live with his grandfather in the deepest Bavarian province. The boy has difficulty getting used to country life and the Bavarian dialect, as does the widowed grandpa to his grandson, whom he has only just met. In return, Jonas quickly befriends his new classmate Julia Stelzer.
In the meantime, the wife of Harald Messner, Jonas's uncle, finds out that his nephew has inherited a lot of money. Although he also lives in prosperity on Lake Starnberg, his wife Sonja in particular is hoping to get even more money through Jonas. You challenge the boy's custody at the youth welfare office and get the right. Jonas has to go to his uncle at Lake Starnberg, although he now likes it very much with Grandpa Ludwig and his housekeeper Rosi.
In the forced new environment, Jonas begins to rebel against his aunt in order to get him back to see his grandpa. At the same time, Julia is fighting to get her boyfriend to come back. With the help of her mother's new friend, lawyer Patrick von Halen, she succeeds. Jonas is reunited with his grandpa.
