Placy-Montaigu is a commune Déléguée in the French commune of Saint-Amand-Villages with 237 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Manche in the region of Normandy .

geography

Placy-Montaigu was about 16 kilometers southeast of Saint-Lô on the Cotentin peninsula . Placy-Montaigu was surrounded by the villages of Le Perron in the north, Val-de-Drôme with Dampierre in the east and north-east, Saint-Ouen-des-Besaces in the east and south-east, Saint-Martin-des-Besaces in the south and south-east, Guilberville in the south and southwest and Saint-Amand in the west.

history

In 1834 the previously independent municipalities of Placy and Montaigu were merged. On January 1, 2017, the municipality of Placy-Montaigu was merged with Saint-Amand to form the new municipality of Saint-Amand-Villages. It belonged to the arrondissement of Saint-Lô and the canton of Condé-sur-Vire (until 2015: canton of Torigni-sur-Vire ).
