Thomas Josef Heimbach was born in this house on April 5, 1786 . He founded the felt cloth factory here in 1811 , which still bears his name and is exclusively owned by the family. He was mayor of the city of Düren from November 3, 1848 until his death on March 29, 1853. The company thanks its founder with this plaque in the 150th year of its existence
