Plitvička Jezera [ ˈplitʋitʃka jezˈera ] (German Plitvice Lakes ) is a municipality in Croatia that includes numerous smaller towns and the Plitvice Lakes National Park . The municipality of Plitvička Jezera is located in central Croatia in the Lika-Senj County on the important national road 1 , which leads from Karlovac to Zadar on the Adriatic Sea .
The municipality of Plitvička jezera in the former Yugoslavia was subordinate to the municipality of Korenica (to which the municipality of Udbina also belonged). Since 1997 Korenica is no longer an independent municipality, but the seat of the amalgamated municipality Plitvička jezera .
