Udbina ( Serbian - Cyrillic Удбина , German Udwige ) is an Općina (union community) in Croatia . It belongs to the Lika-Senj County and has 1,874 inhabitants (2011 census), of which 45.04% are Croatians and 51.12% are Serbs .

history

In 1493 the battle between the Croats and the Ottomans took place on the Krbava field near Udbina .

In the Croatian War (1991-1995) the place was under the control of the Republic of Serbian Krajina . During the Bosnian war , the airport of Udbina on 21 November, 1994 by 30 British, French, Dutch and US warplanes during the Deny Flight Operation destroyed within four hours after of Serbian there attacks on UNPROFOR Troops near Bihac been flown were.
