Poigen is a village and a cadastral community in the municipality of St. Bernhard-Frauenhofen in the Horn district in Lower Austria .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there was a total of 81 building areas with 46,411 m² and 103 gardens on 118,990 m² in the cadastral municipality of Poigen , in 1989/1990 there were 103 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 320 and in 2009/2010 there were 150 buildings on 337 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 320 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 77 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 312 hectares and 86 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 294 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 89 hectares. The average soil climate of Poigen is 32.4 (as of 2010).
