Political Film Society Award - Special Prize
The Political Film Society Award - special prize has been given irregularly since 1987 to films that correlate with the moral values of the Political Film Society (PFS). There are no official nominations for this award.
Like any other Political Film Society Award (PFSA), the award can be given to a mainstream film, an independent film or an international film.

Best film on Hawai'i
The PFS was founded in Honolulu ( Hawaii ) in 1996 and had its headquarters there until 1998. Therefore, it also awards a special award in the Best film on Hawai'i category for a film that best promotes political awareness about Hawaii.
