Pomona Zipser (born June 28, 1958 in Sibiu , Romania ) is a German visual artist and painter from the German-speaking minority of the Transylvanian Saxons .

Life

Pomona Zipser comes from a family of artists. After the early accidental death of her father, the sculptor Paul Zipser (1935–1965), she emigrated to Germany in 1970 with her mother, the painter and art teacher Katharina Zipser (born December 28, 1931 in Sibiu ). From 1979 to 1985 Zipser studied painting with Mac Zimmermann at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and sculpture at the Academy of Arts in Berlin . She was a master student of Lothar Fischer .

From 1994 to 1999 she had lectureships for wood and ceramics at the Berlin University of the Arts , from 1995 to 2006 she was a lecturer for sculpture, drawing and art viewing at the Free Academy for Art Berlin . In 1997 she was a lecturer at the Thuringian Summer Academy in Böhlen. In 2004/2005 she had a teaching position at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art for spatial design.

Pomona Zipser was a member of the German Association of Artists . She lives and works in Berlin.

Works

Pomona Zipser's works are often structured, abstract sculptures made of iron, aluminum, found objects made of wood, nails and laces. They can be room installations or works outdoors.
