Poppendorf is a Franconian village that lies in the natural landscape unit Wiesentalb and belongs to the Pretzfeld market .

geography

The village is one of 12 officially named districts of the Pretzfeld market in the south-western part of Upper Franconia . Poppendorf is located about four kilometers southeast of Pretzfeld at an altitude of 330 m above sea level. NHN .

history

As a result of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Poppendorf became part of the rural community of Hetzelsdorf with the second municipal edict in 1818 . With the municipal territorial reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, Poppendorf was incorporated into Pretzfeld on May 1, 1978 with the municipality of Hetzelsdorf. In 1987 Poppendorf had 127 inhabitants.
