history
The first written mention of the place was with the name "Hecilesdorf" in a document that was made out at the end of 1008 or beginning of 1009. This documented that in 1007 the Frankish king, King Heinrich II, gave several places from the royal palace of Forchheim, which he owned, to the diocese of Bamberg , which he founded .
In 1507, Hetzelsdorf came into the possession of the Principality of Bayreuth through purchase , which gave the place to its office in Streitberg . In the period that followed, these conditions remained largely unchanged until the last Hohenzollern Margrave, Karl Alexander , relinquished his territory in return for a life annuity and handed it over to the Kingdom of Prussia in 1791/1792 . In 1803, this Hetzelsdorf handed over to the Electorate of Bavaria together with the entire office of Streitberg in accordance with the conditions agreed in the main state border and purification comparison .
As a result of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Hetzelsdorf became a rural community with the Second Community Edict in 1818, to which the village of Poppendorf also belonged. With the municipal territorial reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, the municipality of Hetzelsdorf was incorporated into Pretzfeld on May 1, 1978. In 1987 Hetzelsdorf had 127 inhabitants.
traffic
The connection to the public road network is established by the district road FO 16 , which, coming from the south-east of Hundshaupten , continues in a north-north-west direction to Poppendorf.
