geography
The settlement in the east of the Erlanger Albvorland is a district of Pretzfeld, but is not one of the 12 officially named districts of this Upper Franconian market . The center of Altreuth is about one and a half kilometers south of the center of Pretzfeld at an altitude of 317 m above sea level. NHN .
history
Altreuth is a village that was only created a few decades ago. At the beginning of the 1970s, not a single building existed on the area of today's settlement. The closest human settlement was the hamlet of Kolmreuth to the south of it , with which Altreuth almost merged at the beginning of the 21st century. Historically, the area on which the settlement was built had been linked to Pretzfeld for a long time, because it was in the area of the village marker .

The connection to the public road network is established by a communal road that branches off from the FO 2 district road to the northwest of the town . Another community road leads to the neighboring town of Kolmreuth to the southwest . The public transport serving the hamlet at a bus stop for line 222 of the VGN , the nearest railway station on the Wiesent Valley Railway is located in Pretzfeld.
