Porpác is a municipality in Sárvár County , which is located in Vas County in western Hungary . The population is about 160, the area 6.19 km².
location
The place lies in the Gyöngyös plain between the towns of Szombathely and Sárvár . The communities Bögöt and Csénye are nearby . The Rátka brook flows through the village .
history
Porpác was first mentioned in a document from 1321. The first Roman Catholic church in the village was built in 1698, but was later destroyed. The present church of Mária Szeplőtelen Szíve was built in 1904.
Infrastructure
There is a kindergarten, a school, a mobile library and a cultural center on site. The municipality is connected to the Székesfehérvár –Szombathely and Hegyeshalom –Szombathely railway lines via the train station, which is 3 kilometers outside the village .
